THE VOID

Where did you go?

Did I imagine your
words and
heart of
hearts,
your smile ever
present,
no traces be
found
the Tumblr curse
striking down
leaving void
where once
joy ruled

Where did you go?

PATRIARCH OF PRETENCE

I remembered a dream
from not long ago
a house of light
with hidden
secrets
A patriarch of
pretence
a walker of lies
a tosser of ties
a shadowy creature
I remembered a dream
from not long ago
the onefold – once
the twofold – twice
the threefold – thrice
the lies kept
keeping
the honesty
still weeping
alone

THE LAKE OF OLD

Any day now
the weights will lift
the back will straighten
I will resume
a life worth
living.
But till that day
I’ll carry on
crawling the
mud and
dirt of old.
The patterns are
the same as
always
the cries still
silenced by
bruises from
childhood.
Any day now
the sun will rise
on light blue sky
the seagulls chasing
the fish left rotting
on the beach of
the lake
of old

POW

a dark cold night

I left the dead behind

through mazes I

made my way out

haunted forever

by the memories

of love lost and

beating hearts

now silent

SHE WORE HER OWN SHOES

Had she walked in his shoes she would have realised that he wasn’t anything but true. There were no games, no cheating, no reason for jealousy, the fears uncalled for, only truth among the tears. She didn’t understand that he was an observer, only seeing the world for what it was, nothing more. That he loved beautiful things, women, children, dogs, and more, wasn’t the cause for their parting. Her jealousy was the wedge that drove them apart. His scars still healing, her feet too small.

ONE LAST KISS

Leave me be – begone
ye worshipers of earth
and tree.

Here I shall rest – for
time eternal, above the
soiled ground and beneath
the darkened sky.

The life force leaves me – I
feel pale and weak. Only
one last kiss can set me free,
Rigor Mortis – come take me!
