Author name: Hayden Veil

In an earlier incarnation, Hayden Veil enjoyed a successful career in software engineering, writing late-night poetry in pursuit of sanity. Another Day in the Life of…

A subtle vibration

Birds chirping

The dawn greeting

is silent but

welcoming

The shower hot

Full breakfast with beans

on the side

The drive effortless

The Green Wave

across the city

A smiling face in

reception, the first cup

a delight

Typing away vigoursly

Lunch at the food park

Typing typing typing

Cleaner’s arriving

Leaving as midnight

approaches

Driving,

stopped changing

the years piles on

I remain twenty-five and

a summer short

of finding love

I hope

The List

within

The list of not so clever things

is mine, and mine

alone

the burning bush

I promise you only one thing

promises are for

losers of faith

let the swing take you

over the edge

to oblivion and

beyond

close your eyes and let

faith receive you on

the other side

I will be there waiting

the burning bush

am I

Icing on the cake

Behold the icing on the cake

GO white stuff !

the Drum

never ending DRUMS

beating down my

skin

on your

skin

the sun RISING over

slight nipples

I stand
