Author name: Hayden Veil

In an earlier incarnation, Hayden Veil enjoyed a successful career in software engineering, writing late-night poetry in pursuit of sanity. On 2 February 2020, the world of Hayden Veil changed: Ghosts became real and with its soul laid bare there was no turning back from the perpetual path of poetry.

Fire Fire

grains of sand
in a glass of
timeless endings,

kisses I felt
through the years of
pandemonium tension,

skinny jeans
through and through
passionless tapdance,

the fire’s dying embers
a reminder of the
truth

battered but not bruised

skinless boneless dream

and tiny green

peas

sustain me

I am a domesticated wolf

A sheep without clothing

Found taking more and

more from the Emperor’s

coffer

These words were never written since the condom never broke. Conceived through misconceptions, arbitrarily the goal

These words are not suppressed

These words are not in jest

These words are not bread and butter

These words are not late for supper

These words are not made for walking

These words are not ripe for stalking

These words are not made to last

These words were meant to be spoken
