Author name: Hayden Veil

In an earlier incarnation, Hayden Veil enjoyed a successful career in software engineering, writing late-night poetry in pursuit of sanity. On 2 February 2020, the world of Hayden Veil changed: Ghosts became real and with its soul laid bare there was no turning back from the perpetual path of poetry.

Ministry of Lust

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
Pebbles mixed with Grains of Salt
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
Shamed as New Underwear; soiled

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
No Humour laughed as Passion swooned
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
Pride stood and fell; fooled

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
Envied Tounge bit the Dust
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
Silent Hills in darkness; filled

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
Death was present; all around
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
The Feedback too Strong; Down Down Down

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
Fish swam the Oceans; wordlessly
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
Taxes rose as Pebbles watched; dreaming

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
Passion stumbled on Fish; leggings
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
Death lurking in Hills; barren

At the Ministry of Bad Decisions
No Humour met Taxes; heartly agreeing
A Hope echoed through Barren Landscapes
as he reached the summit; empowered and
humming

humming a song

of trust

of hope

of lust

Bow of Hope

My purpose here is to write bad poetry, for you to get inspired and write better, so that in the end I get to read about our darkest hours wrapped up in dreams with a bow of hope

Note to self

It doesn’t matter how much you try and avoid the news to keep the suspense up when the first thing you do is to watch the post-race show. The pre-race show is the better option…

circle-no-10:

The universe just deleted an hour of my day. Why do I never get a say in matters of time and space. The world would be a better place if time stood still and the earth was a pancake with raspberry jam.

The universe tried to do that to me, but I said nope!ย

I tried a “nope!” but nothing happened…………… ๐Ÿ™ and! I was really fond of that hour, we had plans!!!

unbecoming

unbecoming / the thoughts are mingling / I paint a pretty picture / they dance around the Christmas tree / yesterday and tomorrow / a waltz of two / the now standing guard / interference unavoidable / as the bucket spills over

the punishment

the punishment was living the rest of his life as a mortal / to drink cheap wine / eat fatty food with no greens / to seek love / only to find / empty beds

Okay… after re-reading this it does sound like a prompt. Feel free to write a novel ๐Ÿ˜‰
