Yesterday I met…
text version below
The Sun, it revealed itself in full glory
as it came out from behind the
clouds. A warm and friendly face that
made me blush by its naked power
The Bird, it flew in through the patio
door and hid in my cealing light.
Frightened without a doubt from a
fight with a neighbour’s cat
The Cat, it came in through the front
door as I tried to help a frightened
Bird. Escape now Birdy! I said to no
avail; then chased the Cat to far away,
before the Bird would depart my lair
The Friends of old, that time again
with a night of social interactions and
spicy food on top of the agenda
The Curry Man, so oft in favour did fail
this night to properly deliver. The food
was wrong and the service failing,
how was it that Pilau was Plain and
Plain … some other …
The Bar Maid, serving up the sweetest
of nectar, too sweet for my liking, so
sweet was her grace. I longed for
some hops but sobriety desired, the
forecast was wet but I needed dry in
all possible ways
The Clouds, hiding in the darkness of
the night, not showing any signs of
leaking as we departed the pub.
Tricksters! not letting go until the end.
So close to home; so close to bed; but
oh so drenched; so soaking wet
