POORLY
Twitching legs
beneath a quilted
layer of solitude.
Perspiration
wearing down
brittle bones.
Breathing cold
air through
rattling teeth.
Sleep absconded
with
my dreams
Twitching legs
beneath a quilted
layer of solitude.
Perspiration
wearing down
brittle bones.
Breathing cold
air through
rattling teeth.
Sleep absconded
with
my dreams
With Every Moment of
Dissatisfaction
Grasping My Throat
I Breathe a Little
Less Shallow.
With Every Moment of
Regret
the Calling is
Pulling Me Down
Alleys Anew
With Every Moment of
Rage and Hidden
Tears the Void of
Darkness Expands
Fills Like Liquid
Feels Like Death
Approaching
It’s half past silly and
Vodka tastes like whiskey
In coffee with sugar
No cream tonight
Staying healthy
Or not
There is only one me
what you see here is
what you’d see
meeting me
I can’t pretend or
fake or
become anything else
but me – unfortunately
I will try to
Explain
Through metaphors
That building towers
Without
Solid foundations
And
A plan
While trying to find the
Purpose
Will take you far and
Away
Maybe you’ll get to see
Stars and
Swim the diamond pool but
Eventually
The wind will rise
From the east and
Your tower will
Crumble – along with
Your Dreams
In a time long
forgotten
I chose Love over
Friendship, and
thus
accepted a curse,
an unexpected prize,
to be revealed
at a point
much later in time
when the love
had died,
the sun in
hiding, I
found myself
alone
You planted daffodils
in the pot, next to the
Conifer bush, now a
small tree by the by
But since you left
they have not bloomed
Year on year they
show signs of growing
the green stem showing
never quite exploding
into life
@fakesurprise wanted someone to think about daffodils
